Only Three Words

A poem written by a lover for a lover.

As I try to close my eyes for a late night sleep
As I try to cover my insecurities with a blue blanket of confidence
As I take a deep breath
As I exhale
I remember you

As I wake up in the morning, awaken by the soothing voice of the adzaan
As I put my head under the cold water of early mornings
As I sip down my morning coffee
As I taste its bitterness
I remember you

You

The perfect manifestation of the world called 'love'
The smile that could shine an entire galaxy
The voice that could send me into my greatest slumber
Only to dream, my dreams of you
Only to wake up knowing that you are mine
Only to hear you say I love you

My heart stops, skips and thrusts into a fast beat every time
I hear those three words coming from you

I love you

The most perfect sentence can only be brought into meaning by perfect people

Not a single second is wasted
The late night calls
The inside jokes
The long walks
The horrible singing
If it's with you

I remember the days when life is just life
A routine
Plain and dull.

I remember just like it was yesterday,
You came into my life
An adventure waiting to be explored
An art that's full of hidden meaning
A rhythm that will never run out of beats
A single melody wanting to be heard

Suddenly my life was not plain and dull
Not anymore

My life became brighter
Shined by your light
Shined by your love
beaming across the universe
Straight into my soul

You are my world
My love,
And I have only three words to tell you
I love you
