It's not every day that people call you stupid but when they do, do they really mean it?
Stupidity is, like all labels, abstract. But being abstract is not the only properties that the word ‘stupid’ has, it is also a sign of how low our intelligence are. Technically, all humans are intelligent, but to what extent?
Humanity had long lived in the era in when we are the dominant species on our planet. Imagine, homo sapiens above all other species in the universe (considering that we are the only planet that can sustain life of course). However, we are not the only dominant species in the course of Earth’s life. Dinosaurs lived for 16.7 million years! Talking about being intelligent for that long.
Never had society label me stupid, or if they did, I never knew. Even though I was never stupid in the eyes of the society, but I will always see myself as a stupid person.

People often tell me, “Stop with that self-pity.”
Here is where I tell you that they are wrong. First of all, it is not self-pity but self-enhancement. I would tell you, with one hundred and ten percent, there are only a handful of people who wish they are stupid, and they are all crazy. Each and one of us wants to be a genius but we all can’t be Einstein can we?
It goes the same for me. I never wish that I was stupid, the only thing I want is to be the most intelligent man on Earth, but, I choose to consider myself stupid because it reminds me that there are people who are more intelligent, wiser than I am. It tells me to turn down my ego and throw away pride.
I’m not saying that I’m being humble, but I try my best to be so.
God is The Most Intelligent
In case you have a hard time believing in God, this is a more logical explanation.
Imagine you are the most intelligent man now on the face of Earth, remember, there are trillions and millions of people who had lived before us and simple rules of mathematics show that it is almost with zero probability for one person to be the most intelligent man ever lived. If there is, it is surely not us. It just simply because there are more ways for us not to be the most intelligent person, or in other words, we are stupid.

Different people have different ways to be humble. This is mine and I’m comfortable with it.
Remember being called stupid is not a bad thing, it is always a reminder to me so that I can work more, and strive more.
Remember these three things;
- We are stupid
- Try not to be stupid
- Work hard
So next time when people call you stupid, tell yourself that probably they are right and you are stupid all along.
Be stupid, then prove that you are a genius.
